Jock would like to travel by Eurostar on the Monday and return on the Wednesday. Still not clear where the game will be so I'm happy to go with his suggestion. Also happy to provisionally book accomodation in Brussels as that is the most likely venue.

I'm happy to look for a hotel in Brussels, Louie. Anyone else interested?

I'm happy to look for a hotel in Brussels, Louie. Anyone else interested? Fine by me Jock. Happy to go with whatever you book. Might be best to do it on a free cancellation basis as Eurostar usually have good deals if you book the train and hotel as package. Not sure how far in advance you can book though.

I think that this one is in the middle of our school holiday week and as we didn't get away last year, I don't think I've got any chance, but you never know.

I was thinking maybe of driving to this one via Eurostar Chunnel. Maybe could take a couple of passengers too. Happy for you to book Brussels hotel if you like (make sure it's got a car park).

Shug, maybe you should book Brussels hotel to make sure it has a suitable car park. I'm happy to be a passenger with you if it's easy for me to get to the pick up point and it doesn't cost more than the train. As you know I'm a tight b*****d!

I'm happy to go for one night if it's better for you (and practical for me).

The ground holds 50,000 so Jock, Shug and I are guaranteed a ticket based on 10% allocation for a World Cup qualifier. I think Kenny would also probably be guaranteed a ticket if he came.
I appreciate Shug plans to drive and has offered a lift but I think it would be easier for me to get the Eurostar as trains from Peterborough go to Kings X and the Eurostar leaves from next door at St Pancras direct to Brussels.
Only planned to spend one night (Tuesday) in Brussels but would go for two if that was the consensus.

Steph has been doing a bit of research on the hotels front as hotels with 3 single beds in a room are limited. These also have car parks. Best she can come up with is
Van Belle Hotel - 224 Euros for two nights (no cancellation) or 244 Euros (free cancellation). Includes American style breakfast. 15 mins walk to city center. 12 Euros per day for parking.
New Continental Business Flats. 200 Euros for two nights. No breakfast but it does have a kitchen with fridge etc. In the shopping/business district with easy access to trams. 10 Euros per day for parking.
There are other options but they are mostly near the airport or out of town. Personally, I'd rather not be miles away from town for this one but happy to go with the consensus. Reason is if my back plays up I can easily get back for a rest during the day - I'm becoming and old fart! If I was to pick one from the above I'd go for the hotel with breakfast but not really bothered if you both fancy the Apartment.
I think we need to make a decision soon on whether we are going for one or two nights and agree the accomodation. Steph will then book it as there seems to be very few rooms with 3 single beds.
Kenny - can you confirm you are not coming? If you are, Steph can look again as two twin rooms would widen the options.

Re above
Steph found the same hotel on a different site for £168.58 for the two nights including breakfast. Seems a reasonable price to me but reviews suggest hotel in a seedy location. We might be better in the apartments as can't find any other hotels with 3 single beds and onsite car park I'm happy either way as we aren't likely to spend much time in the hotel/apartment anyway.

I'm happy to go with the hotel, seedy or not! It'll probably be full of TA anyway! I prefer 2 nights, travelling out Monday pm, so I can do my cultural bit before hitting the bevvy! I want to see that geometrical sculpture/tower thing or whatever it is as I didn't see it when I was in Brussels before. I think I'll go by Eurostar too. I might be able to book it with my Avios (Airmiles) points.
